For many years we have been operating with a very strong community focus and so in 2015 the decision was made to become a charity to further promote our Public Benefit credentials.
Teesdale Sailing and Watersports Club
(1) TO PROMOTE THE COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION IN HEALTHY RECREATION FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF TEESDALE AND THE SURROUNDING AREA BY THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR SAILING AND OTHER WATER SPORTS AND OTHER SUCH ACIVITIES AS THE CLUB SHALL FROM TIME TO TIME DECIDE.
(2) TO ADVANCE THE PHYSICAL EDUCATION OF YOUNG PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, OF TEESDALE AND THE SURROUNDING AREA BY PROVIDING AND ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF COACHING, EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES FOR SAILING AND OTHER WATER SPORTS.
(3) TO HELP YOUNG PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY THROUGH LEISURE TIME ACTIVITIES, SO AS TO DEVELOP THEIR CAPABILITIES THAT THEY MAY GROW TO FULL MATURITY AS INDIVIDUALS AND MEMBERS OF SOCIETY.
Latest change to Charity Objects:
On the 24th January 2016, we changed clause 1 of our objects to allow the broadening our our remit to offer activities other than watersports. This paves the way for us to develop a clubhouse that can be operated in a similar way to a village hall so that other organisations can benefit from use of our facilities.
Organisations interested in using our future facilities are invited to contact us to express their interest. This will assist us in our development plans and funding applications.
