    Kirkcarrion Cup 12/09/21

The inaugural Kirkcarrion Cup competition for double handed boats took place on Sunday. Five boats made the long trek to the water, and despite light winds managed to complete a series of three races. One of the aims of the competition is to get sailors who do normally sail single handers to get into larger boats and work together as a team, and this certainly happened in two of the boats where young

    Grassholme Cup 28-29th August 2021

The club has had a difficult two years with low water levels and Covid-19, but the Bank Holiday weekend saw the club at it's best and resurgent once again. The Grassholme Cup saw a total of 25 competing boats with one race having 20 crews contesting the places. It was also the first time in a number of years that the event was spread over two days: with two races scheduled for the Saturday and

Successful Youth stage 3 course 14-15 August 2021

After a very windy weekend, we are very pleased to be able to congratulate Jess, George and William on the completion of the RYA youth sailing scheme stage 3. Thanks the volunteers who allowed this weekend to be such a success, in particular Dave T and Calum G, both of whom spent all weekend supporting the instructors - we couldn't have done it without you! We have one more RYA weekend

    Successful UTASS visit 28/07/21

We were very close to cancelling the event on Wednesday as there was seemingly so much against our success. The previous Sunday's training session demonstrated the difficulties of launching and recovering of the Pico dinghies owing to very low water levels Heavy showers and lightning were forecast. Larger numbers of UTASS children than expected were due to attend. On the day, although there was disappointment that

    RYA stage 1 course 24/25th July 2021

The water level at Grassholme is still falling but this is isn't stopping us sailing yet. We ran a very successful RYA Level 1 course this weekend in a variety of different club boats. Good fun was had by all despite the rather trying launching and recovery routes needed. Thanks to all the volunteers that helped out with the course and we hope to see the new sailors up at the club soon for another

    Club sailing 18/07/21

The Sunday saw the first round the lake race of the year. Despite the low water levels and the need for some surreptitious moving marks racing began. The wind was fair and weather Mediterranean with glorious sunshine all day. 3 races went of without a hitch except for some spinnaker related capsizes from the battling laser 3000s. It was great to see 2 of our new sailors, who have only just started sailing this year,

    Club Sailing 11/07/21

We had some what variable winds today, at some points not even being able to lift the England Flag (it is coming home!!!) and at others being enough to give Richard's Laser 3000 a deck wash. Water levels are still low and it was a bit muddy launching and landing but good fun was had by all.
