RYA Sail Training
We are a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Recognised Training Centre and our RYA sailing courses follow the appropriate RYA syllabus, method and appropriate publications.
The course is intensive and is usually delivered over a single weekend by the Club’s instructors. The dinghies used are Laser Picos and where appropriate Laser Bahias and GP14s. A safety boat will be on the lake at all times.
Juniors under 16 will require that the parent/guardian must be present at the club during the course.
Our F3 Club was introduced in 2017, and came about as a result of interest from the various scout and youth clubs that we support.
Focus is on fun and learning to sail in a small group under the guidance of our team of RYA instructors.
This year (2019), children can sign up to either the Saturday morning session (10:00 – 12:30) or the afternoon session (13:30 – 16:00), and there will be groups at each ability level; beginner (working on or about stage 1), improver (working on or about stage 2) and intermediate (working on or about stage 3) groups in each session.
Sessions are for children aged 7 to 12, and begin on Saturday 20th July, running until Saturday 24th August.
The sessions are free for children, who will need to join as club members. We also request that at least one adult becomes a Volunteer Member (cost is £36.00).
An adult with parental responsibility must be on site during the sessions.
Saturday 24th August will be our Junior regatta, children are welcome to attend this session all day, there will be a BBQ at lunchtime.
Places in each group are limited, so to ensure your child’s place please make sure that you reply to email@example.com to confirm your participation, including the following details:
1) Child’s Name
2) Child’s Age
3) Session (am or pm)

TDSWC Junior Sail Club
Our Junior Sail club is aimed at our young sailors who have achieved a basic standard of sailing.
The aim is to develop sailing skills and, for those interested, to participate in some racing. Our 2017 F3 Club intake started attending regattas in 2018 and 2019 will be the first full season where several juniors will be competing against the best young sailors in the region.
