All community organisations need Volunteers to help make things happen and we are no different.
How can Volunteers help?
We have several members that do not wish to get wet but are very happy helping out with the many tasks associated with running a watersports centre but we need more to help us with our expansion plans.
Volunteers do as much or as little as they like and they can decide what types of task they prefer to get involved in.
Whatever help is offered it will be gratefully accepted and we will provide appropriate training.
Many duties, such as race management and manning the safety boats are done by the sailors. The more Volunteers we have who are willing to undertake these roles, the more boats we will have on the water.
Below are some examples to give you an idea, but suggestions are always welcome.
Boat rigging and de-rigging
Boat launching and retrieval
Laying buoys for racing and training sessions
Safety boat officer
Housekeeping & Admin
Meet and greet visitors
Issue and collection of sailing gear
Buildings & Maintenance
Painting and decorating
Mending engines and boats
Fixing buoys and anchors
Do Volunteers pay a membership fee?
This is optional. If a volunteer wants to be registered as a member and have their say in the running of the charity, then this is possible by paying £36.00 per annum.
