RYA Dinghy Level 2 'Basic Skills' Course
It will be assumed that every student starting this course has mastered the practical skills and absorbed the theory contained in Level One - Start Sailing. Although it is not necessary to have a Level One certificate a student's sailing should be of that standard before starting this course. You should be able to sail in light winds without an instructor on board. You will be taught how to rig according to the weather conditions. Types of launching and recovery, coming alongside, and man overboard recovery will be practised. Tacking whilst sailing upwind, and gybing in a controlled manner will be covered. Capsize recovery, racing and meteorology will be considered along with sailing theory and background. On successful completion of the course you will receive a certificate to go in your logbook.
To book on this course you must be a club member and be registered on the website.
