A great evening for a sail. The wind got up around three after a very calm start. When the sailors were ready to hit the water it was a good F@-3 from the south west, coming straight down the lake.

Ava showed great spirit and no little skill to successfully try her first gybes. She stayed upright in tricky conditions for learning a new technique - well done Ava.

James O'C also showed great promise, on his first sail following his Level One course. He just about remembered how to rig up, and then handled the conditions with confidence.

Calum S enjoyed the strong wind and sped across the lake. He is now working on his hiking technique.

It was good to see Libby back on the water after a lay off. She and her niece took a Pico for a sail. One could say that they were a bit underboated. Spray was flying everywhere as the Pico gave a good impression of a submarine with a couple of sails.

Jayne B fresh from crewing a Flying Fifteen at Bass Week decided that a Flying Pico would be the boat for her. She was certainly fast until the safety boat decided that it was time to go in at which she capsized. The rudder came off the boat, but Jayne gallantly held on it for which the treasurer will be very grateful!

Once everything was packed away the wind dropped and gave us a beautiful end to the evening.
