NEYTS visit Teesdale

Thanks very much to Club members and their families that helped out and ran the North East Youth Traveler series event on a scorching day at the reservoir today. Apart from a dismal lack of wind this morning, I have only heard good comments from competitors and their families / teams.

We had up to 24 boats out on the water plus safety boats x 3, committee boat and even some paddlers and SUPs.

Probably worth also mentioning that with crews from across the north east, and a fleet including lasers, teras, fevas, and Oppies (there may have been others I didn't spot), it was great that "our Toby" walked off with 1st place - and we wish him the best of luck in France, where he is competing next!

Sailing in very light airs is a real challenge - proved by at least one of the lasers capsizing after being caught out by a gust! Well done everyone that made it around
