Club craft use at Teesdale SWC

We are very lucky at Teesdale SWC to have such a large fleet of club equipment for members to use free of charge. The Club currently offers:

  • 6 Oppies
  • 1 RS Tera
  • 4 Toppers
  • 6 Laser Picos
  • 4 RS Fevas
  • 2 Lasers
  • 1 Solo
  • 1 Wanderer
  • 2 Laser Bahias
  • 1 Laser Vago
  • 1 Supernova

These are also our training boats and if they are being used for organised training courses they will not be available to book at these times. However, there is almost always a boat available for you to sail. In addition we have

  • 4 adult SUPs
  • 2 junior SUPs
  • 4 sit on kayaks

It is not necessary to book SUP and kayak use in advance, but please be prepared to share these as demand requires. Please not club boats, SUPs, and kayaks can only be booked by club members.

How it Works

Simply click on 'Book Boats' on the menu bar on the home page, and follow the links. Do not block book, give others a chance. If you are unable to take up your booking please cancel it asap or tell the Officer of the Day at the club.

By booking a club boat you are agreeing to the 'Club Boats Terms and Conditions' which can be viewed

on this website under 'Our Club'.

Please leave the boat as you find it; put away the parts, fit the cover and tie it down securely.

Brief boat details are below. If you are unsure which boat is best for you please speak to one of the committee or a senior club member.

Oppie

Single handed junior boats up to 12 years. Great for learning.

RS Tera

A step up from the Oppies in size. A good single handed transition boat. 10 to 14 years.

Topper

Great for smaller more flexible people from 10 to 60 years and possibly beyond! A single hander that can plane in a strong wind.

Laser Pico

A good all round single hander, but with a small jib that can allow for two. Teenagers to old timers! Can get going when the wind gets up.

Solo

A single hander with a relaxed seating position. A bigger sail than the Pico and more demanding to sail.

Laser

A fairly demanding single hander. Very fast and exciting in a strong wind. Available with a standard or smaller radial rig.

RS Feva

A double hander with an asymmetrical spinnaker. Ideal for teenagers or an adult and child.

Laser Vago

A double hander with an asymmetrical spinnaker and trapeze. Well mannered in light to moderate winds, and exciting in a blow.

Laser Bahia

Room for five in this big boat that does everything from learning to sail to trapezing with the spinnaker set. Not the fastest boat on the water, but great fun.

Wanderer

Relaxed cruising and racing for up to five. Plenty of space in this classic dinghy.
