Use of Club Boats Terms and Conditions
The club agrees to allow club members to use of club boats for daily use with the following terms and conditions attached.
Terms
Where the sailor is not an adult the parent/guardian also accepts the terms and conditions.
The Sailor
The sailor must be a paid-up member of the club. Note; where the sailor is a not an adult, at least one parent, grandparent or guardian must be a paid-up member of the club.
The sailor will exercise due care and attention in their use and storage of the boat and equipment.
The boat is only to be used at Grassholme Reservoir unless by prior agreement of the Club Committee
Use of club craft is restricted to sailors who are deemed capable of handling the craft in the prevailing conditions, minimum RYA Dinghy level 2 or equivalent, and the decision of the OOD or club official will be final.
Anyone sailing any craft in an unacceptable manner will be removed from the water.
The sailor must not lend the boat or equipment to any third party without the permission of the OOD
The sailor will not remove, cover or deface any of the club branding provided with the boat and equipment
The sailor will return the boat, any equipment, to the club in the same condition as it was borrowed, barring fair wear and tear.
The sailor will report any defects on the boat to the OOD who will add these to the bosun's list.
Maintenance and Insurance
The club shall be responsible for the cost of any repairs needed owing to normal usage
The sailor shall be responsible for any losses or repairs owing to negligence on the part of the sailor up to a value of £50
Where the boat is subject to an insurance claim, the sailor will be responsible for the cost of any insurance excess (£50) if the committee deem the sailor's actions to be negligent.
Early termination
Sailors found to be in breach of any boat terms and conditions accept that the club has the sole right to withdraw the use of a club boat at any time and that the club's decision, in this respect, will be final.
